Livestock Development Section

Livestock Development Section is charged with the responsibility to streamline the livestock production and extension in the Department.

Fisheries Section

Functions of the Section

Conserve, manage and develop fishery resources and water in a sustainable manner
Manage, develop and protect aquaculture, vegetation and fish habitats.
Regulate the conduct of fishing operations including aquaculture and operations ancillary thereto
Ensure the fair access to fisheries resources for commercial recreational and indigenous use.

Veterinary Services Section

Provision of veterinary services in order to enhance animal health
Implementation of programmes to prevent, detect, control or eradicate animal diseases in order to improve animal productivity and protect human health.
Identification and tracing animals and animal products in order to regulate animal movements and prevent the spread of animal diseases.
Implementation of veterinary public health programmes to ensure food safety and well-being of animals and humans.
